I am 12 years old, and I will turn 13 right before my Bar Mitzvah. Basketball is a huge part of my life. I play every chance I get, not just because I love the game, but because I love being part of a community, with my teammates. On the court, I feel connected, supported, and challenged, and that sense of teamwork and belonging means everything to me.
For my mitzvah project, I’m turning my love of basketball into action. During Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month, I am co-hosting a wheelchair basketball workshop and mini-games led by professional para-athlete Asael Shabo from the Israel ParaSport Center. The goal is to bring able-bodied and disabled athletes, along with curious community members, together to experience how athletic, competitive, and exciting adaptive sports can be, because everyone deserves to feel the joy of the game and the power of being part of a team.
The Israel ParaSport Center empowers life without limits for thousands of Israelis with disabilities. Thank you in advance for supporting this worthy cause in honor of my bar mitzvah.
Thank you,
